Hi,

The snow is falling and the wind is howling outside. They say we’re in for a real storm. I hope this will signify the end of all the troubles and stresses that our economy and our overseas wars have wrought on our land this past year.  Here at www.regalhomesource.com we’re discussing our New Years Resolutions for next year.

Here are some:

• This year was our best year for on-line sales ever. We attribute that to unmatched customer service. We resolve to not only continue this, but to look for more ways to make our great service even better.
• I must look into some serious weight loss ideas. Anybody out there have any experience with Overeater’s Anonymous”?
• Spend more time with the wife and kids, after all they are the most important aspect of my life!!!!
• Expand our lines here at www.regalhomesouce.com. The new lines must be truly exceptional and passed on to our customers at the best prices on line!

If anybody has any other resolutions for me to post, don’t hesitate to send them. I’ll put them up here.

One of the best reasons for an orthodox Jewish home to invest in a Home Automation System is the Yom Tov (Jewish Holidays) problems that it can solve flawlessly.
For example if you have two days of Passover on Thursday and Friday followed by Shabbos (the Jewish Sabbath), a regular time clock will not help out much. The night meals, or Sedorim, of the first two nights ends very late; it can even end past 1:00 or 2:00 AM, whereas the Shabbos meal my end at 10:00 to 11:00 PM. Therefore when one programs the computer you can have different off times for Wednesday and Thursday nights as opposed to Friday night. Also our electric oven is set go go on and off at different times for Pesach and Shabbos. This is quite easy with the computer controlled switches. The crock pot, for our cholent can go on on Friday afternoon automatically even though we wouldn’t be able to turn it on on our own. For our crock pot we use the Simply Automated Receptacle URD-30.

The same problem can be solved with the second days of the Jewish Holiday Succoth. The seventh day we eat in the Succah whereas the eighth day we don’t. Therefore I program the computer to have the lights go on for the seventh day of Succoth and the lights in our dining room would go on on the eighth day of Succoth. For our Succah we use the Simply Automated Plug-In Module UML-20-W.
All of our various Yom Tov meals are set with our home automation system. Before Pesach (Passover) we eat in the basement so I automatically switch the program to Pre-Pesach. This disables the upstairs dining and dinette lights and automates the basement lights as well as the crock pot and hot plate that we use to cook there. I feel that the home Automation Systems benefit Orthodox Jews more than anyone else because of their restrictions on Shabbos and Yom Tov! Hopefully next time I will be able to go into depth a little about each cabinet line.

Since this is my first time contributing to this blog I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Moshe, but most people call me Moe. I am happily married living in Northern NJ with my wife of 2 ½ years and 18 month old adorable girl. Some of my hobbies are hiking, walking, biking, music, and family. I love nature. As you may have seen in Ben`s very first post on this blog, Ben started Regal Kitchens & Baths in Brooklyn NY 20 years ago, selling kitchen cabinets to some of the finest  landlords in the 5 boroughs of the city, as well as other cities in the Tri-State area.  When he started, Ben started with just himself and one other employee. Over time the company grew to employ over 10 full time employees in the office as well as installers on the various job sites. We had a website, www.regalkitchens.com, an informative rather than an e-commerce website. I started work for my dad (Ben) about 3 ½ years ago. I started out as salesman on the road knocking on doors, kinda tough in a city like NYC. At one of our annual employee meetings the idea was thrown out to expand our services to the retail public since we are stocking items they require. We stock sinks faucets, knobs, as well as other items for our customers, so we figured, why not offer them to the general public. this was the seeds from which the www.regalhomesource.com tree was born.

I started the project about 2 years ago. At the beginning I liked sitting in the office all day rather than running around the cold (and hot) NY streets, dealing with some of the biggest landlords here. However, the work involved in getting the new website, www.regalhomesource.com,  up and running properly was enormous. Over time when the sales started pouring in and the positive feedback from our returning customers was tremendously rewarding.
